  Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State says the act of Hudu Ari in seeking to manipulate the outcome of the just concluded governorship election in Adamawa State is an embarrassment to Bauchi State, where Hudu comes from. Bala, who spoke to newsmen in Yola when he paid a congratulatory visit to his Adamawa State counterpart, Ahmadu Fintiri, after Fintiri’s reelection earlier on Tuesday, stressed that Hudu’s kith and kin back home are depressed by his action. “For us in Bauchi, we are highly embarrassed and disgruntled. We feel ashamed that one of our own came and perpetrated this action,” Governor Bala Mohammed said.  He described corruption, believed to have driven Hudu’s action, as a condemnable act that must be rejected by every right-thinking person. “Corruption is temporary, and whatever is gotten through such means will not stand,” he asserted.   It was an unprecedented moment on Sunday when Senator Aisha Dahiru, popularly known as Binani, was declared the Adamawa State gubernatorial election winner. The Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Barrister Hudu Yunusa, shocked the nation with what many had described as a coup when he usurped the power of the Returning Officer to declare Binani, winner of the State guber election. Recall that a supplementary election was conducted in 69 polling units in Adamawa on Saturday in places it was not held during the March 18 gubernatorial election.  Before her declaration, Binani was trailing behind Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party, who had maintained a margin of 31,249 votes. Fintiri scored 421, 524 votes ahead of Binani, who polled 390, 275 votes before Saturday's supplementary poll.
