In-Fighting Continues As APC Leaders Compete For Ministerial Positions In Tinubu's Cabinet.

  In some state chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), there has been infighting caused by the demand for ministerial slots. Governors, former governors, and party leaders are competing to secure places to present to President Bola Tinubu. According to recent reports from Witty Global News, there is competition for ministerial positions among APC stakeholders who supported the President during the February 25 presidential election and among some leaders from other parties like PDP and NNPP. The President is expected to send the list to the Senate after July 4. By law, Tinubu must name his cabinet within 60 days after taking the oath of office on May 29 and transmit it to the Senate for confirmation. However, there are reports of in-fighting within APC, with some members sanctioned for anti-party activities during the state's last governorship and general election. APC Defends The Choice Of Akpabio.

  The All Progressives Congress (APC) has justified its endorsement of Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom, as the senate president of the 10th national assembly.  Speaking on Tuesday in an interview with Channels Television, Felix Morka, APC publicity secretary, said the party zoned the 10th assembly leadership positions to reduce the “scope of contention” among aspirants.  The APC nominated Akpabio, who is from the south-south, as senate president while Barau Jibrin, senator representing Kano north, was recommended as deputy senate president. Abbas Tajudeen was nominated as the speaker of the House of Representatives, and Benjamin Kalu was recommended for the deputy speaker position. Speaking on the development, Morka said the APC only offers “suggestions” on the leadership structure of the 10th national assembly. APC youth group makes case for zoning of Senate president to Northwest.

  The All-Progressives Congress, ( APC ) Northwest youths, have appealed to the President-elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu , Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima , the party leadership, and stakeholders to zone the seat of the Senate President to the Northwest. The youths said zoning the Senate president seat to the Northwest becomes imperative, bearing in mind the region’s active participation and contribution towards the victory of the party in the just concluded presidential election.  The APC youths group said it observed that the party is taking too long to deliberate on which region should occupy the senate president seat as the region have capable lawmakers from APC that were re-elected and can occupy the seat. In a statement by the Northwest APC youth leader, Hon. Abdulhamid Umar Moh’d (Oscar), he explained that the Northwest remains a major APC stronghold in the geo-political scheme of the country, followed by the Southwest, North East, Northcentral, South-South, and South East.
