Introducing Kayode Egbetokun, a mathematician and former CSO to Tinubu who has been appointed as the acting IGP.
President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, appointed Deputy Inspector-general of Police, DIG Kayode Egbetokun, as the acting Inspector-general of Police pending the confirmation of the Senate. Egbetokun was recently appointed as the new Police boss after serving as the Deputy Inspector-general of Police and supervising DIG for the South-West geo-political zone. He was responsible for managing the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, starting April 6, 2023. Egbetokun was born on September 4, 1964, in Erinja, Yewa South local government area of Ogun State. He joined the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, after completing his initial cadet training at the Nigeria Police Academy. Throughout his career, Egbetokun has attended numerous courses within and outside the Police Force.
