During the opening address of the 9th House's valedictory session in Abuja, Femi Gbajabiamila, the outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives and the newly appointed Chief of Staff to the President, expressed his commitment to promoting a harmonious relationship between President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly. His speech lasted for 23 minutes.
The Speaker expressed gratitude towards his fellow lawmakers for their support and described his recent appointment as a humbling experience. He made a promise to work towards establishing a productive and amicable relationship between the executive and legislative branches of the government, while also respecting the autonomy and privileges of the legislature.
Gbajabiamila added, “As I transition into my new role, a role unlike the one I have had for these many years, I ask for your support and best wishes as we continue to work together to advance the cause and fulfil the promise of Nigeria.
