See The Governors That Backs Tinubu On Fuel Subsidy Removal

State governors yesterday expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu's decision to end fuel subsidy payments in the country and other early policy initiatives of the administration.

During a meeting with the Nigerian Governors' Forum (NGF), led by its chairman AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, at the State House, the governors expressed their approval of the President's decision to remove fuel subsidies. The governors also praised the President for his inclusive leadership and statesmanship. The State House media office released a statement detailing the governors' commitment to work with the President to alleviate any short-term impacts of the subsidy removal. In addition, President Tinubu called on the governors to collaborate with the federal government to address the issue of poverty in the country, stating that the current poverty level is unacceptable.

The President also advised the political leaders to downplay their differences and jointly focus on alleviating the people's suffering.

The impact of poverty is evident on the faces of our people, but poverty is not an inherited trait. It arises from societal factors. Our goal is to eradicate poverty, and we should prioritize improving Nigeria and the nation's development over political affiliations. Let us view our country as a single, united family.
