A fire incident occurred at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Wednesday, causing chaos as passengers and airline operators were seen running out of the airport. At approximately 7:50 a.m., a smoke incident was reported at Terminal 1 of the airport in Ikeja, Lagos. The source of the smoke was traced to the basement of the Terminal building. Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua, the FAAN Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, stated that the airport's Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (ARFFS) quickly responded to the situation and brought it under control. As a result of the smoke permeating some areas of the facility, the Terminal building was promptly evacuated to ensure the safety and well-being of all airport users. The situation is under control, and FAAN remains committed to its core values of safety, security, and comfort." As of the time of this news, the cause of the outbreak is yet to identify
