Children Abduction, Abuse Uncovered in Lokogoma, Abuja Through PCC Tip-Off
Abuja, Nigeria — A disturbing case of child abduction, starvation, and abuse has been uncovered in the Lokogoma district of Abuja following a tip-off to the Public Complaints Commission (PCC).
According to reports, the PCC acted swiftly after receiving intelligence on suspicious activities in the area and alerted the FCT Police Command, which immediately raided the scene. What they found has shocked the nation: several children held in captivity, visibly malnourished and abused, in conditions described as inhumane.
The disturbing incident, partly captured on video, shows young victims in frail states, raising concerns about the increasing modernization of child abduction in Nigeria. Investigators suspect that the location was being operated under the guise of an “orphanage,” a tactic increasingly adopted by child traffickers to conceal their operations.
Officials say this latest exposure highlights a growing national crisis: children, instead of being nurtured as assets to the country, are being reduced to commodities by criminal networks.
The PCC, in collaboration with the FCT Police Command, has vowed to intensify investigations and bring all perpetrators to justice. Authorities also confirmed that the rescued children are receiving immediate medical attention and care.
The incident has renewed calls for the Federal Government and FCT Administration to strengthen surveillance, audit all orphanages across the capital, and step up counter-trafficking measures.
“This is more than a crime; it is a crime against humanity,” a source close to the investigation said. “Nigeria’s children must not be abandoned to the hands of traffickers masquerading as caregivers.”
