BBNaija Season 10: Dede Denies Regional Bias, Says Imisi Won on Merit
LAGOS, NIGERIA — Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 10 finalist, Precious Ashiogwu Dede, popularly known as Dede, has dismissed claims that regional bias cost her the grand prize at the show’s finale, which held over the weekend of October 4–5, 2025 (finale night: Sunday). She affirmed that the winner, Imisioluwa Opeyemi Ayanwale (Imisi), triumphed on merit with genuine fan support.
Imisi was crowned the winner of the reality show, taking home the ₦150 million grand prize. Speaking with The Guardian at the prize presentation ceremony held at MultiChoice Nigeria’s office in Ilupeju, Lagos, Dede emphasized that voting patterns were driven by love from fans rather than regional affiliation.
“I don’t think it had anything to do with region. It’s about votes—she got the highest votes, and she won. So, she deserves it,” Dede said.
‘It Was About Votes and Merit’ — Dede
Dede, who finished as the first runner-up, lauded her supporters and congratulated Imisi, underscoring that the competition’s outcome reflected the will of the fans. Her remarks have been widely praised on social media as a display of sportsmanship and maturity.
What This Means for BBNaija’s Voting Credibility
Dede’s message reinforces public confidence in BBNaija’s voting process, a frequent subject of debate among viewers. By acknowledging the results and urging unity among fan bases, she helped pivot the conversation from speculation to celebration of talent and community support.
