Rivers State Launches Fireworks Ban Ahead of Christmas

PORT HARCOURT, NIGERIA – The Rivers State government has launched a high-level campaign targeting fire outbreaks and the use of fireworks ahead of the Christmas weekend.

  • The Warning: Following recent tanker explosions in Edo State, which fortunately resulted in no casualties, authorities are enforcing a strict ban on fireworks and "bangers" in crowded markets and residential areas to prevent Yuletide tragedies.
