Tribunal Strikes Out Rhodes-Vivour, LP From Jandor’s Petition Over Lagos Gov Election

  Jandor is challenging the return of Babajide SanwoOlu and Obafemi Hamzat in the March 18 governorship election in Lagos State. The Lagos State Governorship Election Tribunal has struck out the Labour Party and its Candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, from the petition of his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) counterpart, Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor, against the recent governorship election.  Jandor is challenging the return of Babajide SanwoOlu and Obafemi Hamzat in the March 18 governorship election in Lagos State.  Coscharis Motors, Among The Revoked 21 Plots Of Land in Abuja’s Central Business District CBD According to Vanguard news  Minister of the Federal Capital Territory FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has revoked 21 plots of land in Abuja’s Central Business District CBD. A revocation notice signed by the Permanent Secretary in the FCT Administration, Mr Olusade Adesola said the minister took the decision, “in the exercise of the powers conferred on him under Section 28(5)(a) & (b) of the Land Use Act 1978”. He said the lands were revoked “for continued contravention of the terms of development of the Right of Occupancy to wit non-development”.Some of the allottees affected by the revocation include Lowe Lintas, Tourist Company of Nigeria, Coscharis Motors, CFA Motors, Chidol Properties among others. Underwater Drone-  BAE Systems is partnering with Canadian company Cellula Robotics to showcase its extra-large autonomous underwater vehicle in the U.K. next year, the British firm announced Tuesday. As the undersea battlespace matures, some companies are looking to speed up the development of uncrewed platforms that can work with crewed vessels to cover larger surface areas or serve as smaller alternatives to submarines to carry out covert operations. Among these is BAE Systems’ maritime services division, which launched its Herne extra-large autonomous underwater vehicle last year after noticing a market availability gap in this platform size. The Herne was designed so users could launch and recover it in several ways, including from harbours, ships or submarines. Nigerian Importers To Start Clearing Goods From Cotonou Ports, Says Customs Chief.

Adewale Adeniyi,  the Acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), has revealed that Nigerian importers will soon be able to clear their goods from ports in Cotonou, Benin Republic. Adeniyi disclosed this following a two-day meeting between senior customs officials from Nigeria and Benin Republic. At the high-level meeting, agreements were reached to boost trade relations and combat smuggling. Adewale said, "We are building confidence in the system offered by the Republic of Benin; our importers are using their ports, and vice versa. If people in the Benin Republic want to use our ports, we trust trust in our systems. "And by this agreement, it means that Nigerian importers willing to use the ports in Cotonou can have their goods cleared in those ports because there would be an opportunity for them to pay duties on goods that are liable for payment of duties.   Apple's annual fall launch event has just concluded. The company launched new Series 9 Apple Watches and a new lineup of iPhone 15 phones. Most of the news was in line with expectations from analysts, though one detail caught investors by surprise: the pricing. Some analysts had expected price increases across the board for the iPhone 15 Pro lineup. But Apple kept the starting price for its new iPhone Pro phone the same as last year, at $999. The company did raise the starting price for its iPhone 15 Pro Max by $100, though it also included more storage with that phone. CEO Tim Cook kicked off the event, by saying that the company's upcoming Vision Pro headset is "on track to ship early next year."

 Shake-up in Customs as Ag. CG appoints 2 ACGs The Acting Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi, appointed Comptrollers Florence Nanu Ogar-Modey and Queen Ogbudu as Acting Assistant Comptroller Generals.  Ag. ACG Ogar-Moday would be in charge of the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), while Ogbudu would be Zonal Coordinator for Zone B.  The National Public Relations Officer of Customs, Mr Abudullahi Maida, said yesterday that the key appointments and redeployments were to ensure operational efficiency following the recent retirement of some top management officers of NCS.
