  A Catholic priest in the Abuja Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Chinenye Oluoma, disclosed that the famous gospel singer Mercy Chinwo now charges N10 million to perform in churches. He made this known while decrying how religious worship has become costly. Speaking in a trending social media video, Father Oluoma berated gospel musicians who demand huge payments to perform in a place of worship.  Citing Mercy Chinwo as an example, the cleric reiterated in a viral video that the singer charges N10m as a performance fee in churches. "It's unfortunate that religious worship has become quite expensive. For instance, if one wants to invite a gospel artist like Mercy Chinwo to perform at an event or a church, it can cost up to N10m. This is a sad reality that Christianity has become. Some people pay exorbitant amounts for an artist to lead the congregation in ten minutes of praise and worship.   State governors yesterday expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu's decision to end fuel subsidy payments in the country and other early policy initiatives of the administration. During a meeting with the Nigerian Governors' Forum (NGF), led by its chairman AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, at the State House, the governors expressed their approval of the President's decision to remove fuel subsidies. The governors also praised the President for his inclusive leadership and statesmanship. The State House media office released a statement detailing the governors' commitment to work with the President to alleviate any short-term impacts of the subsidy removal. In addition, President Tinubu called on the governors to collaborate with the federal government to address the issue of poverty in the country, stating that the current poverty level is unacceptable.   It has been approved that five ad hoc staff members of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will serve as special witnesses in the petition filed by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a former vice president and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), challenging the results of the 2023 presidential election. The INEC ad hoc staff, who participated in the conduct of the disputed presidential election results, were subpoenaed to appear before the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC. Atiku, who came second in the presidential contest on February 25, had in the joint petition he filed with his party, alleged that the election was rigged in favour of President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
