The Federal Government has directed all contractors to commence work on their respective sites within 14 days. The Minister of Works, David Umahi, directed and appealed to all contractors to move to their respective sites within 14 days. During a meeting with contractors, partners, and stakeholders in the works sector at the ministry's conference room in Abuja, Umahi urged contractors to stop making promises and instead focus on delivering quality work. He emphasized that their ability to provide was more critical than making statements. The Director (Information), Press and Public Relations at the Ministry, Blessing Lere-Adams, issued a statement saying that the minister directed all contractors to go back to their respective sites and carry out permanent jobs that would stand the test of time and that letters would be issued to this effect.
