  In some state chapters of the All Progressives Congress (APC), there has been infighting caused by the demand for ministerial slots. Governors, former governors, and party leaders are competing to secure places to present to President Bola Tinubu. According to recent reports from Witty Global News, there is competition for ministerial positions among APC stakeholders who supported the President during the February 25 presidential election and among some leaders from other parties like PDP and NNPP. The President is expected to send the list to the Senate after July 4. By law, Tinubu must name his cabinet within 60 days after taking the oath of office on May 29 and transmit it to the Senate for confirmation.   President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, appointed Deputy Inspector-general of Police, DIG Kayode Egbetokun, as the acting Inspector-general of Police pending the confirmation of the Senate. Egbetokun was recently appointed as the new Police boss after serving as the Deputy Inspector-general of Police and supervising DIG for the South-West geo-political zone. He was responsible for managing the Force Criminal Investigations Department (FCID) at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, starting April 6, 2023. Egbetokun was born on September 4, 1964, in Erinja, Yewa South local government area of Ogun State.  On Monday, Bayo Onanuga, the Director of Media and Publicity for the now-defunct Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Organization, took to his official Twitter handle to clarify that President Bola Tinubu's recent appointment of new Service Chiefs was not influenced by nepotism. As we may recall, Tinubu dismissed all previous service chiefs on the same day. In response to accusations of nepotism, Onanuga clarified that the appointments of service chiefs were distributed across the significant geo-political regions of the country. He pointed out that Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, Chief of Naval Staff, is from Enugu in the South East, and Maj. Gen.
